My Own Word/Phrase
You guys my phrase is, “Reach Out.” Not at all what I would have expected! Here is how it came about.
The past couple years, I have spent a lot of time reflecting, doing self-work and I am just REALLY CRAVING to help others more, give back and make a difference.
It is deeper than service (which is the first word that came to mind). To me, reaching out represents being AWARE of other people, BEING THERE for someone even when I don’t know what to do. It is having my eyes and mind more open to WHAT IS NEEDED around me.
How to do it
The great thing about thinking about this now is that you do not have to re-figure and think about what is really important all the time.
You ALREADY did that. Done. Check. The word is there. It is in your awareness.
Breaking Down my Word of the Year
One 100%, sure way to know if you have picked the “right” word is if you feel enthusiasm about it! When I think about my phrase, “reach out,” I feel excitement about the people I will help.
I feel hopeful that I will be there for people who might need me someone right at that moment. I feel the benefits that reaching out in my business life will bring.
Keep Your Word In The Forefront
I was telling my phrase, “reach out” to my amazing life coach today and he immediately asked, “What does that mean to you?!” (Shout out to good life coaches!). Because It’s not about the word right, it is what it represents to you and not to anyone else.
Making the Magic Happen with Your Word
- If you meditate, a perfect time to get leverage out of your word is to bring your word into your quiet space (I’m linking what I use for my morning routine to keep my intents really clear). Imagine what it feels like living with your word and how you see it in your life. Sit with that feel it.
- Put your word up in a place you will see it. Like your mirror whenever you brush your teeth or your screensaver on your phone.
Here are some phrases that others have put on their mirrors or phone.
Extra Support in a Big Way
Whatever your religious and spiritual beliefs, reaching out to a higher power is going to be a helpful part in putting your word out there.
For me, knowing that God, whom I believe is a loving Father, is there to support and help me in my goals is a huge part in helping me succeed. When I tell him about my word and intention for the year, He helps lift me to my goals. Why not have all the support backing you up you can get?!
